Introduction

I can't believe I'm going to do this~! But this seems to be a pretty tightly knit group, so here I go (plus two of you I now know on FB! =P )

Hello. My name is Noelle (like Christmas, noel). I am married to the love of my life and this year we will celebrate 12 years of marriage. Next month we will have been couple 13 years.

We have 3 beautiful daughters (at least I think they are). =) My eldest is 9. My middle girl will be 6 in June, and my baby will be 2 in June. Yeah...2 birthdays in June, EXACTLY two weeks apart. YIKES~! lol

My middle girl struggles with asthma, badly. ='( It effects every aspect of her health. A cold is never just a cold. She has spent more time in the hospital than I care to re-count. She's my sickest girl. She was born sick with fever and jaundice. At 2 months old she was hospitalize with a fever of 104.7. I can remember packing her ice soaked towels with the nurse. She had to have an IV in her head because she was too sick and dehydrated to for them to get one in anywhere else (and they tried...a lot.) But she never lets her sickness get her down. She is so full of love and life! I can remember one time, she got the stomach flu. She couldn't keep anything down for 5 days. FIVE DAYS!!! After all the dr. visits and everything. It took her falling under her own weight, too weak to stand, before she ever stopped smiling and shed a tear. She's so brave. (the dr. finally admitted her to the hospital at that point...she stayed 3 days).

My eldest is so smart and witty and funny! And she loves to help out. And my youngest is my strong-willed child. lol But also very funny. And TALL!!! Not even 2 yet and in 4t clothing!

My husband and I have struggled all our marriage (financially, with our middle girl's illnesses, ect.), but we've survived. And honestly, I'm glad for it. We been to hell and back. And it's only strengthened our marriage. I know he is the ONLY one for me. I love him with all my heart. Our family means the world to us. I'll take this marriage, that has been full of struggle...joy and pain, over one that hasn't been tested any day of the week. I know where we stand. I know now, no matter what life throws at us, we will make it through, together. =) It's very peaceful, very wonderful place to be. (don't get me wrong, I'd love a little season of easy going. lol)

So this is me. This is us. He works 60+ hours a week at his place of employment, and he works from home. But, he also makes time for family, so I can't complain. he's my superman. I stay home and raise our children. When our youngest turns 3 next year, I want to re-enter the work force (child-care rates go down at 3 yrs of age). Maybe I'll be a lunch lady at a school. It would give the opportunity to be home when my kids get off the bus, and have every holiday and "snow" day off they do. =) I know it isn't glamorous. It doesn't have to be. It just has to make money, and allow me to still be there for my kids. My family has always and will always come first.

(I'm not knocking working moms at all!! I have the utmost respect for them! They do it all!! They rock!!! They are some of the strongest, most together women I know!)

So this is me, Noelle, removing part of veil. Welcome to my life. lol

  3. Oh, don't envy us honey. It's been long, hard road I wouldn't wish upon anyone!! But, I have learned that good communication is the key to a good marriage. And it's something we will constantly be working on. Congrats on your 2 years!!! =) It's so nice to be with the one you love.

I have learned, and one day maybe you'll understand this, that sometimes love is more than a feeling, it's a choice. It means loving them even when you don't feel like it. It means thinking of every reason they bless your life when you are the most hurt or angry and forgiving them anyway. It means keeping your vows, even when it's the hardest thing to do.

Marriage isn't easy. It's work. But nothing worth having is ever easy. But, it's ALWAYS worth it! =)

  5. Thanks for sharing Noey, I'm Syreeta.

I can understand first hand how it feels to practically live in a hospital. My son was born unexpectedly during my 27th week at 1 pound & 14 ounces. The hardest and most heart breaking thing as a new mother was to leave my child behind and go home from the hospital. I spent many nights crying because it was touch in go for a long time. Once he did come home, due to complications a many...including asthma, we became VIP patients. It was like the hospital was his second home. We knew all the doctors and nurses at the hospital because we were in and out of there so much...lol. My son is currently 12 years old and was diagnosed with Autism when he was 5 years old. He struggles everyday especially in school and at times I feel so helpless as a mother. I worry all the time about his future, and pray God blesses him to lead a successful and fulfilling life when he gets older. Even with his disability I still feel so blessed to have him, he is my miracle child.

My daughter who is 9 was also early but not that early she was just by a few weeks. She is certainly a mini me, outspoken, opinionated and headstrong but with a good heart! My husband and I have been together for almost 15 years and married for 7 years. We have and are still growing and learning in our marriage.

Your statement is so true. I believe most people don't understand how much goes into a successful marriage. It requires ALOT of work!

I loved your second paragraph comment to ACP so much I borrowed it and posted it to my status on FB!

It was so nice to meet you!

  6. Hi guys, might as well add to! Noel I already feel as if I know you from reading all of your post! I have been married for 10 years in august and with my husband for 13 years! High school sweethearts! I just turned 31 yesterday....blah! My twins will be 10 this year and I too live my life in the hospital. Kody spent the first 3 months leaving kody in there daily while caring for kassi at home. She was not a happy baby. I was only 21 and hubby only 19! It was hard to say the least! Then kody had a hemisherectomy (removal of half the brain), stopped the seizures but a life of special needs. 26 surgeries later here we are, still happily married with the happiest child ever! Kassi has a lot of behavior problems and test me daily but has a huge heart especially for her brother. I had to quit my job when they were 4 because he was bedridden for 8 weeks due to double hip osteotomy. Chad (my husband) works about 60 hours a week and my life is the kids! My kids are in different schooled and it will be a tough journey forever BUT this house will make our lives so much easier for kody to get around in his power chair! I can't wait!!

  7. Wow, what incredible stories from everybody. What a great post to get to know everybody, especially since I am fairly new to the blog world. Congrats to you Noey (by the way I think Noelle is a beautiful name) for finding the positive in life after all of the hardships and making your family work. Your kids will thank you someday! My husband and I are coming up on our 3 year wedding anniversary. No kids yet; we have been hopeful but unfortunately not very successful. We are currently in the beginning stages of treatments for that, and God willing we will be able to start our family soon!

  8. I know what it's like to leave your brand new baby at the hospital after birth and go home. We had to do that with our middle girl. It's HARD!

@momoftwins: I cannot imagine what you all have gone through. I have read Kody's story. He seems like a wonderful kid. You have such a lovely, special family! =)

@Becky: It will happen for you! Don't give up hope!! I found that those who have struggled more with conceiving and/or having children, tend to be the very best parents. They don't take one single moment for granted.

@Minaq: I have a friend with an autistic son. He is very sweet and kind. I think God picks very special parents to parent such special children. My 9 yr daughter can be a bit of drama queen. lol

Thanks everyone! As a kid, I hated my name. I couldn't find it on any stickers or pencils. lol Now, I like it. I guess I had to just grow into it. lol

Our loan rep got everything out before 10 pm last night and over nighted it. I'll keep ya'll posted!

  10. Such a nice post to read. I really feel for you and all the trouble you have been through. My fiance and I have been together for almost 10 years (I was still in high school!) and we are just beginning our REAL journey together as we get married this summer and hopefully start a family of our own soon. I hope that if we encounter the types of difficulties that some of you have encountered we can take it all in stride just as you have done. You are truly an inspiration and I hope that everything works out for you guys just as you deserve!
